Jasminka Kalajdzic, Professor University of Windsor and

Jasminka Kalajdzic, BA (Ottawa), LLB, LLM (Toronto), is a Professor at the University of Windsor’s Faculty of Law, where she teaches courses on evidence and class actions. She is the founder and clinic director of the Class Action Clinic, which opened its doors in October 2019. It is the first clinic in the world to focus on the needs and interests of class members.
Professor Kalajdzic is widely published, including Class Actions in Canada: The Promise and Reality of Access to Justice (2018),The Law of Class Actions in Canada, co-authored with the Honourable Warren Winkler, Justice Paul Perell and Alison Warner (2015), and more than 50 book chapters and journal articles.Professor Kalajdzic was the co-principal researcher and co-author of the Law Commission of Ontario’s Class Action Report (2019). 

She speaks regularly about class actions at scholarly and judicial conferences in Canada, the United States, and Europe, and is a frequent guest lecturer at law schools here and abroad. She served two terms as a member of the Law Foundation of Ontario’s Class Proceedings Committee, andis the Canadian representative in an International Research Collaborative on Collective Litigation. In 2021, she was awarded the inaugural OBA Excellence in Class Actions Award, and the University of Windsor’s Alumni Association Award for Distinguished Contributions to University Teaching. In 2023, she was elected Bencher of the Law Society of Ontario.
