Senior Legislative Lawyer, Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security (Netherlands)
Paulien van der Grinten is senior legal counsel at the Private Law Section of Legislation Department of the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security. She has experience as a litigation lawyer at an international law firm. Her fields of responsibility include civil justice, private international law, collective redress and and Public Interest Litigation. This includes working on the Dutch law on Collective damages actions which entered into force on 1 January, 2020 (WAMCA). On behalf of the Netherlands she has been involved in many negotiations in the European Union in the field of international civil procedural law and private international law, including as the Dutch delegate for the negotiations on the Directive on Representative actions for the protection of the collective interests of consumers. She has published several articles in these fields.
