Sylvie Rodrigue, Ad. E. is the managing partner of Torys’ Montréal office, Chair of the Firm’s National Class Action Practice and Chair of its National Product Liability Practice. Dual-called in civil and common law, she shares her time weekly between the Firm’s Toronto and Montréal offices. Recognized for her versatility and the breath of her Class Action practice across the country, she has been representing clients across industries and jurisdictions, including the Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Canada, for over 30 years. She has been involved in a wide range of multi-jurisdictional cases relating to tobacco, led paint, pharmaceutical (contraceptives, opioids, drugs to treat diabetes, cold and flu, Parkinson), medical devices (IUDs), pesticides and chemicals (Neonix, Roundup, PFAS), automotive (air bags, paint), aeronautic (landing gear) and fire protection systems (sprinklers).Among her many recognitions, she was awarded the 2023 Ontario Bar Excellence in Class Action, 2020-2022 Product Liability Litigator of the Year and yearly since  2014, top Canadian 

Women in Litigation by Benchmark Litigation, 2017-2022-2023 Canadian Product Liability Attorney of the Year by LMG Life Sciences, 2024 Canadian Class Action Defence Lawyers of the Year by Corporate INTL Global Awards, 2023 Top 10 Canada’s Most Influential Class Action Defence Lawyers by Business Today, 2023 Award of Excellence in Class Actions by the Ontario Bar Association, 2021 Litigator of the Year by Canadian Lawyer and 2016-2019 Canada top 100 Most Powerful Women by WXN. She is the co-founder of the IBA multi-jurisdictional class actions subcommittee, Chair of the CBA multi-jurisdictional class actions task force since 2010, and founder of the OBA Class Action section. She sits on the boards of various organizations, including The Advocates’ Society and the Québec class action Bench-Bar Committee.
