Ulrich Egger

Prof. Dr. Ulrich Egger is a Presiding Judge at the Higher Regional Court of Duesseldorf (Germany). Since 2017, he has chaired a cartel senate that adjudicates cases in competition law, including cartel damages actions. The senate also hears appeals in cartel fine proceedings and energy law matters brought by the Federal Cartel Office. Prior to this role, Ulrich Egger served for more than a decade as a judge at the Higher Regional Court, focusing on energy and competition law, corporate law, and business valuation cases.

In addition, he holds an honorary professorship at the University of Wuppertal and lectures at the University of Leipzig. He also serves as Chair of the Examinations Office at the Court of Appeal Duesseldorf, which oversees the state legal examinations for law students.

Ulrich Egger is a certified mediator. He is a contributing author to two leading commentaries on competition law and energy law and is co-author of a recognized book on business valuation, now in its ninth edition (2020).
