Francesca Rolla founded Hogan Lovells’ Italian Dispute Resolution Department in 2001 – which she has led for two decades – and is the founding partner and head of the Investigations and White-Collar Crimes Italian practice. Francesca is also part of the Hogan Lovells Class Action Unit, a focused group of dispute resolution lawyers from Hogan Lovells’ international network of offices with particular experience in advising in class action cases.
With over 30 years’ experience as a litigator, Francesca Rolla’s activity spans almost all areas of high-stake contentious work (mass torts, product liability litigation, white-collar crimes, commercial litigation) across industry sectors as diverse, from energy, oil & gas to life sciences. She has litigated, and won, hundreds of cases before Italian courts, including the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court.
Francesca has defended, and won, the first product liability class action brought in Italy under the previous class action law. Since 2003 Francesca represents clients in pre-contentious claims, mass-torts court cases and class actions brought by consumers’ associations and has coordinated defence strategies in respect of consumers’ claims across Europe.
She has authored several articles – and has been a speaker at conferences- on collective actions and class actions.
She is ranked as Leading Individual in Chambers, Legal 500, and Who’sWho Legal for Dispute Resolution, Life sciences and Product Liability.
