Roger Cooper is a partner at Cleary Gottlieb in its New York office where he is the Co-Coordinator of its U.S. civil litigation group and leads its securities and M&A litigation practice. He has successfully litigated dozens of shareholder, class action and derivative actions arising out of securities, M&A, corporate governance, and other commercial disputes in U.S. federal court, Delaware Court of Chancery, and other state courts.  Roger is particularly experienced representing foreign defendants in U.S. courts and handling matters with complex cross-border or international dimensions.  He was the lead partner representing Petrobras, the Brazilian national oil and gas company, in the largest U.S. securities class action ever brought against a foreign issuer.  And he has advised clients on investor class actions brought against them in courts in Israel, Brazil, and The Netherlands.  In addition to active litigations, Roger routinely advises boards, company executives, and in-house counsel in connection with minimizing risk around deals and other corporate transactions.
